Dressing Down Florals

Yes! I am actually still here!

A lot has happened, most notably that I'm blonde now (who would have ever thought?). Another big change is that I moved across the country from North Carolina to Washington. I absolutely love the Pacific Northwest. Right now, it's fall and the leaves are changing. It's really ignited my creativity and has given me the opportunity to pull out my tights and sweaters much earlier than I'm used to! Last I talked to my family, it was still 80 in NC. Eww. Here in WA, it's a breezy, cloudy 60 degrees and I couldn't be happier.

Believe it or not, I love a floral print if it's the right floral print. I like my florals muted, dark, or dull. To me, a floral like the one I'm wearing above works well in a grunge wardrobe. I paired this muted floral bodycon skirt with a burgundy pullover hoodie, black tights, and converse sneakers. Dressing it down added some ease to piece that could easily skew too feminine for my tastes.

Also, earrings that look like safety pins!? How could I not buy these immediately! Anyone else feeling some teenage nostalgia looking at these?
