Stitch Fix Unboxing Try-On November 2016 (attempt #2)

Monday, November 14, 2016 Sam 0 Comments

Since the initial Stitch Fix box I ordered for November left a lot to be desired, I decided to have another sent. Bonus: Stitch Fix saw a tweet I made about my last box's damaged item and reached out to apologize. They even credited the styling fee for my next box as incentive to give them another chance. And wow, am I glad I did. This box was fantastic. Let's break it down:

The Try-On:

RD Style Dumont Ribbed Sleeve Pullover, size large. $68

I actually had this pinned on my Pinterest board. So if you want proof that Stitch Fix actually pays attention to your pins - this is it. I like the color and the stitching detail on the shoulder. I also love an oversized fit since I tend to wear tight (leggings, skinnies, tights) on my bottom half. It's a nice sweater but it didn't wow me for the price.

Loveappela Dolli Mesh Detail Knit Top, size large. $54.00

Black and white stripes. A cutout. Mesh. I mean, how 'me' can one shirt possibly be? The inclusion of this shirt assuages any doubts I had about Stitch Fix supplying clothing that's edgy enough for me. Sadly, my broad shoulders didn't like the fit of this top but I love everything else about it and feel like it was a great choice made by my stylist.

Blank NYC Lettie Faux Leather and Knit Drape Jacket, size X-Large. $98

I had a jacket similar to this pinned on my Pinterest. The biggest difference is the way it closes in the front. This asymmetrical cowl style doesn't work for me. There's way too much fabric in the boob department. I also appreciate that my stylist sized me up for outerwear (because I prefer a loose fit) but this definitely too big on me.

Liverpool Heidi Printed Skinny Pant, size 10 petite. $88

Hands down, the best pair of leggings I've ever put on my body. They are made from a heavy and thick material that is perfect for winter. Somehow, they still manage to have a good bit of stretch. I love that they're ankle length which is such a hard length to find for a 5'0" curvy lady. The zippers, the subtle plaid print, the charcoal gray color (the photo looks a little brown thanks to the lighting in my bathroom but they are definitely gray). I'm never taking these off. I'm so happy to have an interesting pair of pants to wear with all the band tees in my closet.

Status: Kept
(after much rejoicing because this is the second pair of pants I've gotten from Stitch Fix that actually fit!)

Kut from the Kloth Krissy Velveteen Skinny Pant, size 10 petite. $88

Lo and behold, another great fitting pair of pants. How is this happening? Does Stitch Fix have pant fitting magic powers? Are they employing some kind of blood sacrifice to make this happen? Sorcery? Necromancy? I don't know but whatever it is, I approve. These have a velvet texture which is one of my favorite things ever. Soooo soft. They're a gorgeous color. They fit like a damn glove. These are going to be a staple in my wardrobe.

Status: Kept (I may be gleefully rolling around in a pile of great fitting pants as I type this)

The Wrap Up:

I am so pleased with this box. I may have only kept two items (but um, seriously, they were both pants that fit like a dream) but every piece felt 100% tailored to me. An item straight from my Pinterest board was included which tells me my stylist paid attention. There were amazing details like zippers, cutouts, and mesh. There was stripes and plaid. There was velvet. I love that there was so much diversity in these garments yet each piece had that edge I desire in my wardrobe. The fit of the items improved in this box versus past boxes though there's still a few tweaks to be made which I'm sure can be accomplished through more communication. I'm already excited for my December box!

If you enjoyed this post and it helped you make a decision to try Stitch Fix for yourself, it would be awesome if you signed up using my referral link. If you do, I'll get a credit towards my next box so I can post more content like this!
