Stitch Fix Unboxing and Try On February 2017

The Unboxing:
I let Madeleine, who's been my stylist for the last four boxes, run free with this fix. I asked for her to surprise me in my note and she did not disappoint!

Item Info:

Loveappella Oliver Faux Leather Trim Striped Top, Large $58

At this price point, I couldn't justify keeping this shirt. It's too basic for almost sixty dollars. It was also a bit tight in the arms. Status: Sent Back

21 Main Emilia Drawstring Jogger Pant, Large $68

After I wore these around for a little while, I realized that the zippers on the bottom faced inwards instead of outwards. That seems super weird to me. They even clicked occasionally when I walked. I love the color and style. I would have sized down to a medium if I had decided to keep these. Since I wasn't in love and the price was steep, I didn't keep them. Status: Sent Back

Loveappella Willie Mesh Detail Knit Hoodie, Large $54.00

I'm going to live in this hoodie. Status: Kept

Liverpool Reagan Printed Skinny Pant, 10P $88

I love Liverpool pants and they fit like a dream. However, the last pair I got from Stitch Fix in the same size and style, did shrink just a tad. And since these are petite, they went from being ankle skinnies to high-waters (did anyone else's grandmother ever use that phrase?). I asked Stitch Fix to exchange in a non-petite size but they weren't available. Status: Sent Back

Stitches & Stripes Brendah Mesh Detail Pullover, Large $68.00

I was honestly uncertain when I first pulled this out. I worried that it would be too short since it's not the tunic length I usually prefer. I tried it on with a couple different bottoms and found it looks fabulous with a shorts/tights combo and with skirts. And it's just so damn weird and cool. My husband said it looks like what people in the 80's thought futuristic fashion would look like. That's 100% perfect and everything I've ever wanted my fashion to be. As you can see, I don't mind a hefty price tag if something is unique and high quality. Status: Kept

The Verdict:

I'm so pleased with the items Madeleine pulled for me without any guidance whatsoever. I got two great tops - one that's super comfy and one that's really fashionable and cool. The items that didn't work were mostly fit issues with the exception of the joggers that had a really weird zipper detail I didn't care for. At first, I really thought this fix was 5/5 but after wearing things around for a bit and trying things on with different pieces from my wardrobe, I was able to rule some items out. Since the price tags are high, I like to be 100% sure I'm in love with something if I decide to purchase it. I like Stitch Fix for that reason. There's plenty of time to try the clothes on in the comfort of your own home (a big plus for someone with fitting room anxiety like me!) and you have your entire wardrobe at your disposal to see what fits and what doesn't. This was my sixth fix and I'm already excited for my seventh!
